9.8. Hands down GOTY 2009.
Uncharted 2 went beyond a game. It was an experience. The polish was Hollywood level, and the technical perfection brought WOW factors. There was a part in the game where you have to climb to the top of a hotel, from the ground up. I'm most of the way up it ~20 minutes later and a few hundred feet off the ground, I look down, and I still see weapons glimmering, left over from a gun fight (ch. 6).
In short, Uncharted 2 is the cinematic gaming experience MGS4 aspired to be, but with the pacing and cutscene:gameplay ratio spot on.
The only downside was the guardian thing; with a game as real life as Uncharted 2 it feels awkward having supernatural elements in it. That said, the explanation made much more sense than Uncharted 1's descendants at least, and that made it acceptable.
