she was designed to "look" similar to cloud by square-enix & TBH she doesn't even look that similar to him anymore from the latest CGI trailers & FF13 trailers

Besides looking like cloud shouldn't make her less "popular"

Remember one thing, FF13 is aimed to bring new people tot he franchise, these people won't bother with cloud, they will like lightning
