I think Nintendo and MS should do Wii and 360 redesigns

Because the PS2 was a great peice of hardware, and the original Xbox was prone to failure 50% of the time?

Sony and Microsoft have had their mishaps in that area, that doesn't mean Microsoft are bad at making hardware

Has the 360 been the most problematic hardware this gen? Yes.

Does the PS2 have anything to do with the thread? No.

Do i think MS want to have another $1Billion payout to fix a bunch more consoles? No.

Yes you're talking about Microsoft being bad at making hardware, when Sony fucked up as well last gen and Microsoft were pretty good on that front.

What's to say Microsoft will let that happen again .. you're acting as if every new xbox console is going to be plauged with problems

That said, a redesign for the 360 is a great idea. Microsoft could use this opportunity to steal some of sony's thunder and capitalize on the lower parts and hardware costs. This is their chance to release a console that actually works properly without all the high hardware failure rates due to overheating (red ring, E74 error) and chewing up discs business (even on newer models). I think microsoft will wait until the release of natal to do this though to make the most of the moment.

The one thing that does worry me is a smaller xbox 360 might mean less air circulation and overheating problems all over again....
