Truly there is only a few games in the history of the industry that have garnered so much respect that the simple mention of the name is associated with excellence in the sense of every positive quality.  When Ocarina of Time released this truly happened.  This is the official thread for one of the greatest games ever made although debatable as the title suggests.

When OOT release, the industry revolutionized as every other game after it had to have something similar to it.  Adventure genre had been defined and for the most part still plays the exact same way.  OOT just wasn't a game but it was truly a work of art and a masterpiece.  It showed how every piece of development can come together to create one of the most immersive experiences ever.  Discuss the merits and or nonmerits of this game here while your best and worst parts.  And of course given the thread, is this really the greatest game ever made and does it deserve the credibility it has garners.

If you ask me it deserves every bit and more.  To me this was a defining point in my gaming history where I knew this wasn't a sillly hobby that kids did but a form of entertainment on the likes of that of movies and music.  This game gave the industry a Beethoven Symphony number 5 with Miyamoto being Beethoven.  Although there had been masterpieces before this, this game brought the gaming to even higher standards and levels unprecedented.  Gaming to me was no longer child's play but experiencing a classic movie or classical song to be studied and enjoyed for year's to come.  Indeed I do consider it the greatest game ever made.  But this is open discussion so let's here what everyone else thinks.
