The Goemon team also left and founded Good Feel Inc. They recently made Wario Land Wii. Iga's Castlevania team is still there, as well as most of the Bemani team (though the creator left to found a new company called Yudo), the Powapuro team, the Winning Eleven team and of course, the staff at Kojima Productions. Konami's internal teams do seem to have suffered a lot though, all combined they don't have near the output of the old KCEO/KCEJ/KCET days, not to mention Konami's prolific 8/16bit output. |
Yeah, I kind of classify most of those guys as 'new' blood, compared to the guys who established many of the popular franchises which made Konami a success. And especially in the case of IGA, he kind of just swooped in and altered all the past games to make his own version of Castlevania. Not exactly innovation. More like alteration and perversion to make something 'unique'.
In any event, the main point is Konami keeps losing all its main crew, which established it as a good company. The company that used to be one of my three favorites. Now its like none of the games they produce are even remotely like the games of the past and I have lost all interest i nthe company I loved.
