Why can't they use a combination of gamerscore and points? So like, 2000 gamerscore or 150 ms points.

both companies have said that they'd somehow use score/trophies as some kind of bonus and I've yet to see a good reason.

Well a while back MS sent out invites to some Xbox Live rewards program to reward people just for being members...  people got free MS points and stuff.  I've been on Xbox Live for near 5 1/2 years and didn't get an invite
