FF13 won't be able to outdo FF7, it was a NEW brand at that time, thus it attracted pepole who wouldn't play the game if they knew about what it was, or the genre.
By this point in time, Final Fantasy is one of the biggest brands of gaming in the world, and 95% of the "core" gamers know about it, thus FF13 can't have the same effect that FF7 once had.
Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.
