MotorStorm Updates on the Way
Lots of downloadable content is being planned for the dirty racer.

April 27, 2007 - MotorStorm was the best-selling PlayStation 3 game in the U.S. last month, and Sony wants to keep all those consumers playing the game with updates that will be available mid-May. The first patch includes a myriad of enhancements and tweaks to the game's online experience.

After players download the update, their game status and the track they're currently racing on will be displayed for other players to see what they're up to. To keep late-comers abreast of what's going on in a race, new information has been added to the race lobby, such as the number of laps remaining, the racers' status, and which track is being used. Hosts will also have their own icon in the lobby for easier identification. In order to reduce waiting time in lobbies, races will start after a fixed countdown. Buddy lists have been expanded to allow up to 50 friends.

The patch also fixes a bug that has been allowing users to exploit the boost and give themselves an unfair advantage in a race.

This first update should be released within the next couple weeks, with a free Time Attack mode to follow soon after. And after that, an ever bigger pack of downloadable content will be made available. IGN will give you the scoop on all this MotorStorm content as soon as we have more details.
