I don't know if it's the best TV but I'm very content with the Sharp LCD with Full LED backlight (LE700) I recently bought.

Advantages:
- cheaper than other LCDs with Full LED backlight (afaik)
- very low power consuming
- excellent picture and contrast with DVD/BluRay/PS3/even TV
Disadvantage:
- Horrible sound (but I heard that's a problem with many flatscreens)
