The guy who made this site had a feature article up on cracked a few weeks ago. It covered the most badass last-stands in history, like a viking holding a bridge on it's own against the saxons untill someone managed to sneak under the bridge and spear him. A centurion guarding the Roman emperor's castle on his own against a mob of hundreds of peasants or a spartan covering the manouvres of his men while he was wounded, down on his knees.
Reading that made the hair on my back grow back.
