ok well my new monitor should be coming in on monday. I ended up going with the Hanns-G from Newegg. The total was $158. I actually missed out on a really good deal though - it was a $120 22" Acer from TigerDirect. My stupid nephew said he only needed to check his email. I should've just ordered it right there when it was available. When he finally got off, the deal already expired. I probably could've saved about $40 since I wouldn't have been charged taxes, and I heard Tigerdirect do that waste recycling fee either.

Anyways, my nephew is always undecisive about stuff so if I wanna run dual monitors I'm probably gonna have to buy the 2nd one. I'm gonna need a new case, power supply, and vid card. These are all the things I'm looking at:

vid card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130395

case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119068

psu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817148027

How does all that look? I tend to go by most reviews when I shop at Newegg so I'm at least getting stuff that's been tried-and-tested. One thing I was wondering is, there's another vid card pretty much exacly like the one I posted except the only difference is the memory, which is 512mb instead of 1gb. What exacly does that affect?

The total cost is about $170'ish. I plan on spending around $120 for the 2nd monitor (hoping to find another deal this monday).

@ Xelloss,

I was told a while back on another forum that I'm gonna need a new psu since my desktop is a slimcase. Apparently they use custom smaller-sized psu's.
