they like it because for one it has the best easy friendly online experience. so anyone can pick up the game and start playing but frustration will build considering they will be getting thrashed by the well addicted call of duty users. also another reason people enjoy it is because the single player experience is certainly awesome with story-telling and it makes you feel and sense the feeling of how it would be in a real-life situation like call of duty.
I never played the very first call of duty because it was only available for pc but as soon as they released call of duty 2 on the xbox 360 i finally understood where the pc gamers was getting their excitement from.
