3. Who loves Final Fantasy in Japan and doesn't already own a PS3? The game has been announced for 3+ years.

Is that is why PS3 sales jumped this year in April from 15k to 60k( 60,361 (+289%) ) during FFXIII demo bundle release?

Also, there are some people, who waited 29,980 yen PS3 price before getting FFXIII. Not to mention, that PS2 sales also increased during FFX release(which came on 2nd year of PS2 life).

I'm just using the logic of "Who loves Mario in Japan and doesn't already own a Wii?"

The difference between Wii and PS3 in Japan is 9M vs 4M in 3 years. PS3 is getting it`s first huge(1M+) game in Japan, while Wii already had around 5 huge games in Japan. We shall see, hiow big will be impact from NSMB.

Wii's had 6 million+ JP sellers so far (Wii Sports, Play, Fit, Fit+, Sports Resort, Mario Kart), and 2 more that almost hit a million (Mario Galaxy, MH3).  NSMBWii will be the seventh, then they also have at least one more sure million seller (DQX) in the pipeline.

PS3's getting it's first and (possibly) last million seller in FFXIII.  GT5 may manage it too, but that's far from a sure thing.

Hmmm Wii has more than 6 million sellers in Japan.

Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit, Wii Fit+, Wii Play, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Party 8, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl. That's already 10 million sellers.

MH3 and NSMBWii to be added before 2010, so 12 at the beginning of 2010.

Yikes, I totally missed Mario Party 8, Smash Bros and Animal Crossing. I think I  was thinking 2m+ or something. :/

I was going off Famitsu though, which has Galaxy just under a million (~970k), but really it's probably close enough to qualify (it's certainly going to be over 1m shipped).  MH3's at ~950k and still moving a consistent 5k each week, so it'll get there for sure.  And I hadn't realized but Wii Fit+ isn't there yet, but it will be in the next 2-3 weeks.

Versus 13 is also a possiblity.

A slim possibility.  If we're going that far down, I'd add Galaxy 2, Kirby and Zelda M+ to the Wii list.

If we went in order of known/likely million selling Japanese releases then...
