2000: Tenchu 2
2001: GTA III
2002: GTA VC
2003: C&C Generals
2004: World of Warcraft
2005: God of War
2006: Medieval 2: Total War
2007: God of War II
2008: Left 4 Dead (By far the weakest year IMO. I don't even consider L4D GOTY materiel)
2009: Demon's Souls

2005 was real tough with God of War, Battlefield 2 and Shadow of the Colossus. 2006 was also hard with ME2TW and The Battle for Middle Earth 2 and Battlefield 2142.

I really wish I can put those games instead of the like of L4D which only wins because of the weak showings of that year.
