Im not brushing off PSP and saying its not a successful machine. I have it... its a wonderful media center in your pocket. Its just not a great mass market portable gaming device. Portable gaming is not the same as console gaming. You dont need excellent graphics, games with story, 30 buttons on the controller... It needs to be simple, easy to get in to, console with great battery life and games that can are fun within the first minute or 2 of playing them. Some PSP games don't even load the first level in 1 minute... PSPgo is the first glimpse of sony actually understanding what they need to do for portable gaming. Losing the slow UMD drive, adding memory and making it small amd portable... Now all they need is some simpler games like Peggle for 9.99. Last thing anyone wants to do while playing a portable game on the subway is get stuck watching a 20 minute cutscene from a MGS game. |
ok fair enough. =P
and yes i think nintendo is brilliant for bringing us the ds. haha. i love it.
sony not so much....
