Even if you have a hard drive, you should actually go buy a memory unit. Hard drives in general are not that reliable (ie. I had an external hard drive on my PC only a few months old die on me. I have another external that is really wonky after a couple years. Thankfully my internal hard drives never crapped out completely yet) and don't have a good lifespan compared to flash memory. If your hard drive wipes out, you better hoped that you backed up your game saves on a memory card. I have a 256 MB memory unit for that purpose. Hopefully it'll be enough to backup all my game saves (I've been a bit lazy and haven't backed up saves regularly). Some game saves take up a lot of space. It's a shame that M$ banned all memory cards above 512 MB. With 2 MB + microSD card expansion, those Datel Max memory cards give you a lot of bang for your buck (I don't own one though).
