I agree, Famitsu use to be more strict. And I came right out and said this game shouldn't have been given a perfect score. Its not the best Mario game ever made or even the best game of this year, let alone 'perfect' material. Just stating that Famitsu has started rating games based on bias, like many reviewers now adays. Frankly, I wish they'd go back to rating like they did in the past. Heck, this is the magazine which downscored all the Dragon Quest games each year, the most popular games in Japan. And now they gave DQIX a 40/40. Not that I can say that's a bad thing yet because I have yet to play DQIX yet. |
My point is just that there's a difference between 'being a joke' and not being as strict as before. I agree wth both of you. They were always the most respected and that is possibly sliding, but to call a mag a joke because of giving 40/40 is hardly fair.
