If Sony does try to sit out the next gen, that means they are in dire financial straits and are essentially dead, as they will see little or no support from third party devs

go troll elsewhere do you have any facts to back up any of your statements??

their plan is for 10 years of support for ps3, it is too early for the next console, maybe in 2 years time they will start planning the ps4, by which time they should be making profit again.

personally i love their 10 year plan as i can't afford to upgrade less than every 5 years lol.

You actually bought into the PR BS, lol, if they did try to hold off for 10 years, they would be dead in the gaming market, first off who would buy the console?  Once the 720 and whatever Nintendo's next console will be, were to come out in 2012-2014, people would flock to those consoles, leaving the PS3 behind, not to mention, very few if any third parties would support the PS3, as the PS3 has a smaller base than the 360 or Wii and only gets as much support as it does because of the 360.  Sorry Sony is planning to release their next console between 2011 and 2013 right around the time the 20 is released, and the Next Nintendo console will also release around that time.

actually it's not PR BS, they have done it for the past two generations and have kept their promise, why would they not this time?

@jefforange no i dont espect it to last until 2016, that would be silly, but it still has lots of potential left in it thats for sure, and it's not like you don't have to constantly have to update you pc every couple of years if you really want to keep up to date, which i just find a total waste of money, i only upgrade when my pc finally breaks lol.

at least with the ps3 i don't have to worry about upgrading for a long time.

it's the future of handheld
