I think MW2 wins by a hair.
Gears 2 has great texturing... and that's really it. Of course you're gonna look "good" if your textures are highly detailed (and highly repetitive), in the typical screenshot. MW2 is put together better, in my opinion. The whole game is just more engrossing, visually.
