Everything except Pan's Labyrinth, and City of God, right? Right?

Seriously though, you ever see Memento? It's one of my favorite movies of all time. Is Irreversible similar?

Yes, one of my favorite as well. Where Memento has two orders of events (black and white versus in color), in Irreversible there's only the backwards chronology.

Not in rewind or anything, but the last scene in the story is the first scene of the movie and thje last scene in the movie is the first scene in the story and so on. So it starts with the ending and goes all the way to the beginning. So you see things happening without context and then you see what happened before that. But the name also refers to an event that cannot be undone about midway through the movie or so.

It makes it a very different movie, because you literally see the happy couple at the end the way they were and you see the conclusion of the series of events which is pretty brutal. You know how some movies try to show you how great life was before they take you down this really bleak adventure? Well this one shows you how great things were at the end, it feels even more of a fall from grace sort of thing than other movies with similar themes.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!
