I never said it had to be perfect either, but still the complexion in emulation the architecture of the cell alone will definaltely put off a lot of developers from even wanting to do one, if you know what i mean. as for x86 becoming better than cell processors, only if the cell processor dies and no futher cell procesors are made, if sony decide to keep on improving the Cell processor, this wlll not happen. sony owns the idea for the cell processor, so it would be possible for them to make more superior versions with other companies if they really wanted to. |
Yes but you probably misinterpreted my posts. I just want to say its POSSIBLE to make an PS3 Emulator despite the weird architecture.
And in the future they will make it because the PCs in 6 years will have 10times the PS3s power. It will put off maybe a lot of developers but some seek the challenge to proof they are the best. And you cant know how the architecture will change in the future. If there will be CPUS with 100 or more Cores in 10 years every Programm could get a core for itself. Which would increase the stability a lot of times.
Such CPUs could be perfect to Emulate a PS3 every SPEs gets a Core of the CPU. You cant know how the Programming will change in the next years because multicore CPUs will be the future and in that process Programming will completly change.
