PS3 had specs of super computer when they were first announced wasn't it?
Anyway, there is no reason to release CELL at pcs, because it wouldn't run the current softwares, and the chances of a PS emulator appearing would be much higher. Let sell in it primary function of gaming, video decoding and super computing. Maybe, if they made something like a hybrid architecture of x86 and CELL it could work, though.
