The file storage systems on mac and windows are identical, neither Snow leopard nor 7 have built in data recovery software (although snow leopard has much better data backup options built in) Apple offers as a free download an application to recover deleted data, found here

and you can drag and paste on a mac in the same way as in any windows gui
