For me Europe doesn't have to be a state but I liked how it was described in the book 'The United states of Europe' from Feierhofstade. If their was no European Union I doubt Europe would have been a better place to live in.
The Eu made living in Europe so much easier especially if you are someone who wants to travel in Europe and wants to enjoy the wonderfull nations the EU has.
