Actually, a lot of people do use home. I spent some time there when xi was going, and did enjoy it (reportedly 500,000 played xi, not bad). I tried my first Uncharted2 multiplayer launch from home, it works, though kind of complicated. You have the game's name above your head, people can send you a friend invite to add them to your game. Good if you want to find some random new people to play a game, although you could also simply jump in a random game from uncharted2's menu. This makes it a little more sociable though, you get to know the people your playing better beforehand, perhaps.
