This same exact argument can be used for Guitar Hero also. It still sells well and it reviews well. Is Guitar Hero being milked?

Of course it is! LOL

Guitar Hero is the perfect example of a milked franchise.

I'm questioning the reasoning given by the guy from Insomniac and a few tidbits given by members in this thread. He says Metacritic is reviewing it well, and Metacritic has Guitar Hero games reviewing well also. A member in this thread mentioned it not selling like shit and still releasing games as a reason, and that is the same for Guitar Hero. So what's the difference?

There are a ton of critically acclaimed and popular series that people claim are being milked, but what I've gathered is that people pick and choose which they consider to be milked based on their own likes and dislikes. Someone that likes Ratchet and Clank but dislikes Mario will probably see the latter as being milked and the former as not. Why? Because the latter does not interest him, making each release more grating as they come in such numerous amounts, while the former is welcomed in any dosage it can be pumped out. There's really nothing inherently different between many games people claim as being milked, they just allow their biases to come to the conclusion for them.

7 Guitar Hero games were released in 2009 alone...(including Band Hero and DJ Hero which are basically the same)

It's true that no one has the same definition of "milked" though.
