I looked it up. As I thought it was developed by Petroglyph.
(Eveyone needs to know that the true westwood lives on as Petroglyph.)
They also made a pretty cool Star Wars strategy game if I'm not mistaken.

Universe at war seems like a good game. I'll have to find out more about the gameplay though. Red Alert 1 is one of the best RTS games I have ever played, so I do feel confident that Petroglyph can make good games.

It would be nice to play a true westwood-style RTS again. The EA games are just buchering westwood's IP

Yeah. Especially in story. Command & Conquer has been completely destroyed.

Aparently they removed bases in cnc4 because it wasn't a .. "core element" of command & conquer. That made me facepalm.... a lot !

Universe at war is hands down one of the best rts games i've played in many years.

It's not just good. It's completely awesome.

One of the sides has barely any base buildings. They only have a drop zone thing, their units consists of giant walkers that has various points you can upgrade, from these you can decide what to upgrade them too ie you can have weapons, defenses and even buy units via certain upgrades on them. They get resources by walkers that harvest. The harvesters can harvest anything into materials. Even enemy units XD it's pretty funny to harvest your enemies... There's also buildings, cows.. etc XD anything basicly.

Then theres a team built out of robots. They use a energy grid sort of like protoss but with the difference that the grid is connected and they can download themselves to the grids for almost instant transportation any other place on the grid. They build bases and they get their units upgraded via patches.

The third team.. I don't want to cover spoilers in the story, so i'll just say how they function. They build bases and on the surface seems the most like your regular rts team. One major difference though, they have a "light" and "dark" function. If you click it, all of the units structures etc of their team changes, not only in appearance but in play. Light is offensive and dark is defensive. All of their units abilities also change depending on what mode you are playing in.

Each team also has heroes.

The two last teams harvest differently but i can't remember how each of them harvest :p It's been a while since I played the game.

The first few missions in the campaign you actually also get to play as the humans... But you can't otherwise.. Cause they're.. underpowered XD

This is the CG intro of the game:

Soundtrack is made by the same who did the old cnc games soundtracks aswell. It's truly a epic experience in all areas. :P

Also yeah, they made a star wars rts it was very well recieved
