Our Boxing Day (from Canada as well) is the exact equivilant to US Black Friday.  Only dumb thing with our Canadian way is that we get the good deals AFTER Christmas where as US citizens use their Black Friday to help save for their Christmas present shopping. 


Same in the UK although it does make more sense as the stores try to get rid of stuff they could not sell before Christmas so basically a more traditional inventory clearance sale.
