Yes. It's not a common problem but it has happened to me a few times. You know when people quit the match and the Matchmaking replaces those players with new ones? That's when it happens. Happened in COD4 and WAW as well.
Basically instead of putting you in a lobby that is about to start a match, it will put you in a match that is already in progress. Sometimes the match is pretty far along, but the teams are doing pretty evenly. Other times it will put you on a team that is getting slaughtered, and you're up against a loaded team that drops a Predator missile or calls in a stealth bomber as soon as you spawn. I have been put in a few matches where I just get to see the final score come up with me on the losing team. So a loss is added to my stats even though I never played.
