Try syncing in the mornings and not during heavy gaming time periods. Its the only way I can do it. If I ever get a trophy at night I just wake up in the morning and before I leave I sync it. Its slow but it goes through. I have spammed the sync button 40-50 times before and nothing. I even had called and sent a email in to Sony Support.
