And we both know that Britain only helped Belgium for self interest(+ the fact we were a neutral country back then, so they had to) =/

And there were a lot of lies going around that made the situation of Belgium look even worse lol. "poor little Belgium" should sound familiar to some. But it would be pretty dumb to let the german people use our train lines(they were actually good back then, can't say the same now tho lol ;o)

A newspaper exactly and a article wrote by one maybe two writers.  It is certainly not the opinion of whole UK.  The Guardian wasn't that negative.

I have the feeling the Daily Express can only sell well by making articles like that...If the latvian was chosen we would have ' Communist leads Europe' if the German was chosen we would have 'President of Europe was ex-Hitler jugend(youth)? not sure how to write it.   If the Dutch one was chosen we would have 'Europe lead by a Hippie;..or  'Harry potter just finish school and lead Europe know'.

And well it was a poor little belgium then.....Belgium was portrayed as an six year old boy who wanted to stop an grown up (Germany) of attacking his brother/sister France;
