Several points:
1. Ask yourself, why does a person buy a console? The likely answer: Because it has the games they like. You might like Halo and Mass Effect and they may well be awesome games (haven't played Mass Effect so I can't say) but that doesn't mean everyone will like them. They might like Mario or Zelda. Or else they might like Final Fantasy or Ratchet and Clank. If that's the case they're not going to buy a X360 and they're not going to care that they're "missing out" on Halo or Mass Effect because they don't like those games. That's not being a fanboy or a hater, that's called having different tastes.
2. People need to stop cherry picking for examples. It's hardly fair to say that Wii owners are condemned to playing Mario Party and Boogie while X360 owners have things like Halo without even mentioning Zelda, Metroid or Mario. I could just as easily say all X360 owners are stuck with Dead or Alive Beach Volley Ball 2, but that wouldn't be a fair comparison at all.
It all comes down to a matter of taste. If someone doesn't like what you like it doesn't make them a hater. It means they've got different taste. Calling someone an idiot for not liking the same things as you is pointless and ignorant. All you need to do is ask yourself: are you happy with your purchase? If the answer is yes then move on with your life.
