I obviously also missed the part where all Nintendo games have a bad story! Perhaps you only played Mario because there are plenty of story driven games made by Nintendo (Zelda, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Paper Mario). You've of course, probably never played these games because you don't like Nintendo games. Good for you. It's still closed minded.

The Gamecube I own and the N64 I did own say different.  I gave Nintendo's games a chance, I loved them a lot during the NES era but I grew up and my tastes changed.  And I stand by my statement about poor storylines, it's basically Nintendo's biggest weakness when it comes to games.  There's a reason why there're no decent movies based on Nintendo's games and why Hollywood isn't trying to get the film rights to their games when they're released.

Way to only respond to half of my post. I will sit here and say that many of nintendo's games have weak stories. Why don't you then play Nintendo's more story driven games? Metroid, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Nintendo has them. They're not exactly Bioware quality stories, but if your profile actually had a list of the games you own then I'm sure I could find many games on there with stories of worse quality.

I do understand that Nintendo does have a weak point when it comes to stories, but simply discounting all of their games based on this is incredibly closed-minded. I understand that EA has a habit of releasing buggy and half-finished games but I will say the same thing about them. Anyone who says "they don't like EA games" is just being closed minded.

And saying that there are no decent movies based off Nintendo games is just patently unfair. There has never been a decent movie made from any game ever. Those games with fantastic sotrylines (Baldur's Gate, Half-Life, Homeworld, etc) have never been made into a movie. What do we see instead? Doom. Obviously in your opinion, having fiml rights to a game must mean the story is supreme quality. Give me a break.
