You need to check the following

 

1.Make sure your CPU/GPU are up to date

2.Make sure you have enough Ram

3.Make sure you have enough HDD space

4. Get the latest patches

5.If a black screen appears, or it freezes up, quickly turn it off,and uninstall the patches, then redownload them and repeat the process.
