Except they aren't making a brand new game designed for the gamepad. They are porting one designed for the Wiimote. Do you really think it is possible without reworking the game?

How would it have to be a brand new game? You could keep the same story and what not. Just tweak things around so that the gameplay is actually suited for the controller. Similar to how game devs regularly design FPS games with the mouse/keyboard in mind for the PC and the controller in mind for PS360 at the same time (ie. Call of Duty games). It's no different from that.

Yes you can tweak it, but it isn't going to be as good as the Hack N Slash games created specifically for the controller of which you were comparing it too. Most of No More Heroes fun comes from the Wii Mote.

Hack n Slash games incorporate finishers/special moves. They may incorporate grappling moves at times. I don't see why it has to be an issue.

It is an issue, because No More Heroes would be an average game without Motion Controls. It is because of the great controls(in 2008 they were great, now they are ok), as well as its style that it was acclaimed so highly.
