I tend to buy game and play them for an hour or so and then leave them for 6 months or more before putting in any serious time. I did it with Mass Effect and Fallout 3.
I still have Eternal Sonata, Oblivion, NGII, Too Human, BK- Nuts & Bolts, Rock Band, Lost Planet, TDU, Dynasty Warriors, Perfect Dark, Stuntman: Ignition, Splinter Cell: DA, GRAW and Just Cause all waiting to be played for more than 1 or 2 sessions.
I've just stopped playing FM3 because I finally pick up Halo 3 and want to beat the campaign on legendary, which may take a while.
