OnlyIsrael nailed it. It's mostly folks who want to be different, so they claim they hate everything that does well.
It's clearly illogical. Just look at one of the posts here:

Halo 3 is not a 9.5 game, they completely overhyped halo 3, the campaign is terrible and short. The online is ok. Tahts it, cod4 rapes halo 3 end of story.
As for mass effect its short.

So according to Leo, the biggest problems with both Halo and Mass Effect is game length. Yet he loves COD4? How long is the single player in COD4? Like 7 hours?
I've got nothing against COD4, it's a great game, but clearly he's a bit confused if he likes long games.
Buy the games you like, play the games you like, and don't worry about what a few folks say. If they want to miss out on some of the best Sci-Fi stories ever told in video games just because they don't like the 360, well, it's their loss.
