You, no, but that doesn't mean that others don't do that. Every group has its nutjobs who think they can only be right by sheer dismissal of other groups. And whether or not I would agree with it, it drives me nuts.

I personally am an atheist, I have no problem saying that. From my perspective, religious texts were written by mankind to try to explain the unexplained, and the thought of there being this one omnipitant being makes no sense to me. However, those who believe I can not call fools. Similar to the thoughts of scientology, I want concrete proof. (But the radicals in the church of scientology scare me.) Unfortunately, my thoughts are what make the most logical sense to me. There is nothing definitive to prove me right, or that I can use to prove someone else wrong. Conversely, I expect the same of the believers- there is nothing that can definitively prove them right and me wrong. I am open to the possibility that I may be wrong, since there is no proof for either side, but again, trying to look at the big picture makes it something I just can't see.

And so, while I can see and respect you regarding those atheists who you feel get in your face as annoying, how do you think we feel when the believers constantly try to condemn us for our beliefs? It's all personal opinion to me right now. And that can be neither right nor wrong.

And I have no problem with you being an atheist. But the thing is this isn't about atheistic peoples as a group and them being persecuted.

As this thread goes, it is the opposite. The XBL Community bible game is not something being forced down atheist xbox gamers' throats. You do not have to buy it, you do not have to interact with it. And even if you have to see it in the storefront, who cares? Bibles are seen in bookstores all the time and they aren't trying to preach down to you. The majority of the atheists in this thread, however, decided to call my faith a crock, a fake, a sham....... I mean, wow. They just used this thread in the MICROSOFT FORUM, not the off topic forum where they usually bash chirstianity, to be assholes.

 

So you see, this thread isn't about atheists being oppressed by christians, as you can read in the other pages. But of christians further being made fun of by atheists.  So do not try and act like it's christians fault for this thread going to shit. And I do not give a shit if christians in real life preach to you. The internet is a safe haven for you, escpecially godless VGChartz. Atheists are constantly bashing christianity wherever it's believers are.

First, where have I blamed Christians for this thread? Nowhere. Note my first paragraph: "Every group has its nutjobs." It's the nutjobs, regardless of which side they're on, that cause things to go somewhere in a handbasket. Whether it be the group I agree with (atheists) or not (Christians), both sides do asinine things.

Next, about being forced down our throats. Well, neither XBLA nor bookstores do that. However, there are countless times I've seen people or groups trying to force bibles upon others who go by. I don't care about going past it. I do object to it being forced upon me. Given that most of the ones who try to force beliefs upon others are Christian (But I am not saying the reverse, as most Christians do not.), I can see why there is some backlash against the group. Again, do I think it's right, no, but merely that I can see where it comes from. Conversely, your bias shows in the 3rd paragraph. Using your logic about not caring about others preaching to me IRL, I shouldn't care about any of them doing so to you. Sorry, but if one group can do something, every group can. Rather, I was trying to point out the inanity of both sides.

Lastly, I feel sorry that you felt a need to take a dig at both myself and VGChartz to try to make a (failed) point. Instead of you passing judgment, shouldn't you leave that up to your God to do? "Judge not lest ye be judged." (King James- 1, Matthew 7)

@dunno001:Good points and I think you are not being biased at all but usually christians,(not all) are quick to say they are being persecuted. It is pushed into there brain from the book, I used to be a christian and still have some  friends that are, most moved away from the idea due to the facts of evolution.

@Strategyking92: just don't get mad if they make a human evolution game. Don't be so quick to feel like people are attacking you, we are not. we just want to have a good intelligent conversation. In science, being challenged on your ideas is largely welcomed to get to the right answer. So science is a different way of thought and mind, We won't blindly believe in anything unless the proof is in the pudding.  However I do agree that most christians are good hearted people and most scientist are the same. One thing I do find, if you tell someone you don't believe in the bible but believe in a after life but think no one has a clue what it is.  You automatically get put into the evil group and are not to be talked too or tooken seriously.  Getting judged I would think is more likely when your not a believer.

Example: what if the president said he doesn't believe, How bad would he be persecuted, even if he was the nicest guy in the world. I would say non believers have it harder and millions have been killed for disagreeing with christian views.
