| letsdance said: ironman - you have no clue what you are talking about. My point is even though Sony doesn't have the biggest chunk of Blu-ray royalties they have the most to gain and gain the most from it. They are the only company that makes A. Blu-ray discs. (You know what they put the movies on? Yeah... if its a Sony disc Sony is already getting more money than everyone else with royalties) B. Blu-ray players. And C. A movie studio that massively supports blu-ray. I love how you conveniently only single out blu-ray players when all along ive been mentioning 3 things. Sony doesn't need to split their profits from Discs, players, or movies to the people with a stake in Blu-ray like you are suggesting. |
Sony is NOT the only one making Bluray discs, to assume so is ignorant. Also, you completely fail to see my point. With every Movie disc Sony makes, they pay royalties to the other companies. Sony is eating all the manufacturing costs, and the shipping costs. and all other costs associated with producing hard media. While the other companies sit idly by and collect $ from Sony. PLUS Sony IS NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE MAKING BLURAY PLAYERS. Thus, your point about the Bluray players is completely moot, you are really just trying to hard at this point. Oh and lets not forget, the movie studio that is backing Bluray is not backing Sony, it is backing Bluray, so that too is a weak point. Sony does split all Bluray profits because they must pay royalties to all the other companies, honestly, do you even have a clue how this whole thing works? So far, it doesn't seem like it.
