You'll need a new player. Unless Sony says otherwise in an official statement.

It's called being an early adopter. You lose out.

 

I doubt this would affect PS3.  The issue is the BR player needs a way to make the copy available - which a lot of standalone BR players probably will struggle with, but the PS3 has USB ports and a HDD - I don't see any issue getting the managed copy feature via a firmware update and then having the new firmware make a copy to HDD or directly to another device (PSP anyone?) via USB ports.



Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
