While I haven't played the console version, the PC version can be played in the same camera view as the console. Personally, I find it much more difficult in battle and generally spend most of my time in the overhead view. I have heard the console versions also have the difficulty dumbed down (e.g. on normal, friendly fire is enabled (though at 50%) on PC but not on console) to accomodate for the reduction in tactical advantage.

If you have a PC that can handle this game, I would definitely get it on PC over console.
