I respect MS for their ruthlessness and sticking to their guns of lack of creativity, but still managing to keep a strangle hold on the current culture while keeping us years behind. I have to respect that because they are doing a fantastic job. I don't like it. I would rather see them crash and burn and see other companies managing to propel our software ahead. But the fact that they are succeeding deserves respect |
So they keep us years behind by constantly updating and improving their products and at least when they update their products and add funtionality and features with service pack 1 and 2 or a dashboard update on xbox 360. They do the update for free. I wish I could say the same thing for Apple who is even charging for you to update to the newest software version on the iPod Touch and the endless equivalent type updates to OS X (Snow Leopard, Panther, etc)
