First I want some posters to do themselves a serious favor. Many sites on the internet provide readily available data for each console pertaining to genre. Make use of these sites such as IGN. There you choose a platform, choose a genre, and it provides you a list. The list contains released, and planned titles. This will give you a comparative understanding. You know so your not talking out of a place where the sun does not shine.
There is just no excuse for the blatant, and shameful ignorance on display by many that posted in this thread. You should be better informed then you are. The last time I looked the 360 had the largest number of titles released, and in development. The PS3 had about half that, and the Wii had about half of that. You might choose to parcel out the RPG genre as you wish, but the overall trend remains.
You want a large RPG library its looking like the 360 is it for the next year. Personally its not my favorite genre ask the guys I play on live with. Yes oh my god I have never played a Final Fantasy game. Including Blue Dragon which I recently completed I have played four turn based combat games. Two of which were cue based and free motion being both games in the KotoR series. Before that the last one I played was Seven Stars on the SNES.
So I really have no bias in regards to the genre. Though I am getting more keenly aware of it. I had a lot of fun with Blue Dragon so Lost Odyssey is looking better to me. I will be playing Mass Effect having loved the original KotoR. So I am actually looking towards A RPG heavy environment in my future. Anyway view me as a neutral fixture. On the whole I am more impressed with the lineup on the 360. Seems large enough, diverse enough, and seems to have some decent quality.
P.S.
For those who have a 360 and haven't played Blue Dragon it is at the very least worth a rent. I spent around fifty hours on the title so I consider that money well spent. The story isn't all that fantastic, but it has its moments, and the combat is very complicated, but then again it also seems very forgiving. Like I mentioned not really my genre, but I had a wonderful time with the title. I think many here could as well if they give it a chance.
