It is valid to trash the game without giving it a chance, because it is not the gameplay which is in question but rather the infrastructure setup that the gameplay rests on. If you dont like 65 FOV lock, no amount of great gameplay will likely change that. If you dont like lag, it doesnt matter how cool the leveling system is - game will still be hosted on some random guys home internet and home PC. If you wanted a larger match size, it doesnt matter how pretty the GFX are... etc.
The best way to look at MW2, is that it is basically a 60$ DLC for CoD4 that is so buggy it breaks every single PC feature, and IW has announced its not worth their time to fix it.
If you reaaally like CoD4 and think its worth a 60$ DLC, great. I was ready to pay 60$ for it myself, until I found out it did not work properly on PC.
