Those are some ridiculous opening numbers. It'll probably hold the record for a long, long time - until sometime next gen at the earliest.
I don't know about its legs, though. People are speculating on its final sales numbers on its opening week alone, but I think a lot of its load has been blown right off the bat. Like most sequels, I predict it will undersell the original during its first holiday period (December), and stay under from 2010 on out. The X360 sku will not pass Halo 3, especially if a sequel to MW is released. The PS3 version may outdo GTA IV, but not by much. In the end, I still only expect ~17mil between the HD consoles.
Well, that's as pessimistic as it gets, but I'll bank on it... let's see how this goes.
