I personally feel shafted because of steam. I hate the "service" in and on itself. Mainly because it's damn slow.
I got the PC version today. I enjoyed the single and multi of 4, this was more of the same... why not?! I completely forgot about the mandatory steam aspect.
When I got home my internet wasn't working. No problem I thought, I want a romp through the single player first anyway. Well, tough luck champ because the disc needs to be linked with your steam account, which I thankfully already had due to the orange box.
This night my internet was finally working so I loaded up my steam account and installed the game.
Halfway through I got an error: The servers are to busy to handle your requests...
Serieusly valve... the Fuck?!
Apparantly I can still play. When restarting the download (yes, I'm determined) I saw that "play" was an option. Hurrah! I clicked... and steam started to open. It took me a few minutes in which the game did not start before I could get the steam program open..
And now it's updating my game. Which is ready to play in 2 hours and ten fucking minutes.
I'm not running the best connection here, or a high end PC but CoD4 was a simple installation and at least I could get into the action immidiatly. This just sucks balls and I'm highly contemplating returning my copy.
