it's because you suck and everyone that played with you yesterday is now considered better than you, so you won't be matched with them anymore 
nah, I'm kidding, it might be the opposite - you were playing with noobs that remain noobs, while the game consider you a better player now.
you should check mp_config.cfg, there's something there that lets the game find servers with 800 ping max. you might try setting that option to a lower number such as 150 or 200, if MW2 still uses this option, it might help to find better games. I don't know the exact name of the setting though
