what are they doing with the sims T___T

i really liked the sims 3 updages (mostly just the ablity to move around freely, no loading screens/lots) but i really expceted more from them by now. were already almost a year into its life and we have an online store that offers alot of "meh" products for purchase. there seems to be very little excitment within the community for the world adventures expansion pack. i may not even be picking it up (i cant think of any time i didnt care to buy a sims expansion pack when it laucnhed...). at first i was thinking it would be a bit like the vacations pack for the orginal sims, instead its a storytelling/adventure title...

its all left me and many others i know who are fans of the series playing sims 2. they rushed so many expansion packs for the sims 2 in the lead up to the sims 3 that they gave most users enough content to explorer and justifaction for staying with 2 for some time.

considering how many extras were stripped from 3 (weather, apartments, interactions/building options, gardening, bussiness, shops AND more), it seems like they were going to pump out expansions at the same pace of the sims 2, instead its taken almost a year to get world adventurers out which looks more like an adventure expansion vs anything that expands the sandbox...

the sim adventurer titles should stay seperate from the overall game, if your going to try and merge the storyline games with the sandbox atleast expand the sandbox first, its the bread and butter of the sims...

i hope after this "world adventure" bussiness they get the game back on track to what most poeple like in the series. im getting alot of deju vu with the current situation of the sims 3, it seems like their taking it down the storytelling route that they tried to move sim city into, which was a disaster
