That is now what you said in your original post and you are clearly chickening out. No suprises there! xD |
Try again. I'm not a fanboy. I call things as I see them. And I stand by what I said in my posts- put them together, and they DO line up. What I think is that the 360 will outsell the PS3 in the 1.2:1 ratio that I specified. However, I also acknowledge that there are several factors that could swing in the way I'm not expecting them to. This leads to my saying that I would not be surprised- I know that they are an estimated guess, and nothing more.
As for betting, I personally think the concept is stupid in general, regardless of how I feel about my prediction. I value my name, and while I can admit when I make a mistake, I will never let said mistake allow someone to use my name to smear something I believe in or promote something I don't. Trying to accuse me of "chickening out" for having a different mindset on betting, coupled with trying to accuse me of changing my stance is rather immature. Nothing is set in stone. Look up the really old Wii Fit prediction thread to see how far off some people can be. (And I will say openly that I never would have predicted its current sales then either.)
Okay, that aside, actual number predictions. (All numbers are NA only.) First week will see about 1.2 million on the 360 and 1 million on PS3. (This holds to my ratio.) Lifetime numbers will be a different story, however, as I see the better PS3 ratio also leading to more frontloading. I think lifetime sales will land closer to the actual system ratios, helped by the large number of RPGs on the 360. Lifetime will put the 360 at a bit over 2 million, maybe 2.1-2.2m or so. PS3 will see sales about 1.5-1.6m total. Again, though, there are so many variables that could make these numbers off. Marketting will be the biggest wildcard; I expect to see MS doing some marketting for FF13. Sony will also, but not to the same extent. (MS will market price, Sony will target a pairing with Vs13.)
