Wii, PS2, PS1, SNES, and NES were all financially successful. They didn't have to practically give the console away.

You wanted to compare sales of past consoles, we explained to you that yes the PS3 will not outsell current and past console winners, but will eventually outsell all 2nd place consoles. Now, you are using the financial aspect which Sony should wory about.
Let me be clear:
The PS3 has been a finacial nightmare for Sony, it has cost them billions, but now there a little hope, let us enjoy, please.

Well sales numbers aren't worth much to me if you're willing to take epic losses.
I mean the 360 could easily outsell the PS3 if they were willing to drop the Arcade to $99 and the Elite to $199.
Wii could become the best selling consoles of all time in no time if it was $99.
I just don't understand why people boast about PS3 sales when Sony is taking such big losses.

Why are you mixing sales and profits?
Sony is doing what they think is the best and if they are ready to lose money with the PS3 now, it means they think it will benefit them in the future in some way.
